In order to verify the durability and resistance to fire, the island Style Roof was subjected to sever fire testing with some dramatic results. Sample roof sections were constructed on site at Intertek – Building Products & Building Sciences in PA. The sample sections were tested in strict accordance with ASTM E108 Standard Test Methods for Fire Tests of Roof Coverings. Both burning brands and spread of flame tests were performed with outstanding results.

To achieve a Class A Fire Rating, the spread of flame test allows the flame to climb up the roof slope a maximum of 6’. Test results show that the flame was limited to just one foot which demonstrates the superior fire resistance of the Island Style Roof system. These results approved the roof with a Class A Fire Rating. Island Style Roof Fire Test Report
